Kim's Game Online

Age Range: 5 - 17 years
Time Required: 5 - 15 minutes depending on age of Guides
Fundamental: World Guiding

A traditional Guiding game adapted to be played during an online meeting.
Kim's Game is a memory training game.

Materials Needed

  • Online meeting
  • A favourite toy or item for each Guide

Instructions

  1. The Leader or Guide running this activity will introduce it as 'news' and ask each Guide in turn to 'show & tell' about their favourite thing in one short sentence.
  2. The Leader will record the Who & What.
  3. When all the Guides have presented the Leader of the activity will surprise the girls and ask them to write down as quickly as possible who showed what.
  4. The online meeting could be paused at this time to limit online chat.

To make it easier younger Guides might just like to speak the answers.
To make it harder older Guides might be required to remember the items in the correct order of presentation.

As a Girl Guide, How Can I Lead This Activity?

This can be done as a Unit or Patrol Activity.
The more girls that present the harder it will be to remember.

As a Unit Leader, How Can I Make This Activity Girl Led?

Girls are showing their favorite things.

As a Unit, how can we make sure everyone is included?

As it involves a short sentence from everyone even the girls who talk less online will have their time to say something.
